Youth Group Vision
Our Youth group is led by Allan and Jackie Henri, who together with a team of volunteers, provide a safe and engaging place for teenagers and college students to grapple with their faith and build a relationship with Christ that is their own.
Teenagers and College students ages 13-20
Sunday mornings, we meet in our War Room just off the main foyer. However, our youth are visible and active servants and can often be found meeting and serving all over our church and community!
Life on life discipleship. Our youth are given mentors to guide them through the transition into adulthood and be a positive role model of what it is like to live a Christ-centered life. Discipleship is where true growth, maturity and development happens and young adults become loving, mature and equipped followers of Christ who impact their families, community and the global community.
Hebrews 6: 19-20, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.”
- The teenage years can be messy and tumultuous. The main reason a ship needs an anchor is to ride out storms so that it is not blown off course or into the rocks or reefs nearby. Even in a safe harbor, a ship needs an anchor so that it will not drift, hit something, and sink. We will be exploring how Jesus can be our anchor during the messy, stormy teenage years as we, as a youth, are surrounded by feelings of inferiority, drugs, alcohol and other addictive substances, sex and social media pressures to name a few.
- Theme Song – “It is Well” – Bethel Music
- Book – Messy Spirituality by Mike Yaconelli- We will open our eyes to the deep spirituality of being loved by the God who meets us and transforms us in the midst of a messy and unpredictable life.
- Throughout the year we will do various service projects with a somewhat “messy” theme.
