Iona Davie

Iona came to Messiah in 2017 when she moved to Maine from Jamaica. She was a cook and school lunch lady all her life. She has three children and ten grandchildren. Jesus has always been her everything. “When I moved to Southern Maine, I told my son that I had to find a church. So my son and I searched the internet for a church. We listened to the Pastor Dan’s sermons and I was convinced this was the place for me. The Pastor is real and the message are solid. And the people are warm.” Iona recently walked in the church’s Walk a Thon to raise money for our missions team. “I walked the whole six miles carrying my purse and in my “going to church” shoes. I was glad to be able to participate in helping the missionaries pay for their trip. I am like Caleb. I will take that next mountain and my strength is increasing as I get older!”
