Planting and nurturing the seeds of a lifelong relationship with Christ

If you have children – from birth to 12 years, they can participate in our fun and safe Children’s Ministry during each service. Your kids will love it here! Imagine a generation of children who had the seeds of Christ’s love planted in their hearts from infancy through their teens. The roots would be deep and the fruit of their spirits plentiful. Here at Messiah, we feel strongly that our children are not only the future of our church but of this world and the kingdom of God as a whole.

Our Vision

To plant seeds of love, faith, knowledge, and service and to then continuously nurture them through the love and life of Jesus and His word. We believe this will cultivate a lifelong relationship with Christ that carries far beyond their childhood and pours into every aspect of their lives.

Infants to Age 2 meet in our Seedlings Infant Nursery that is open Sunday mornings at 9:30AM through the end of service. If you would like to keep your child with you during worship, nursery children will be dismissed prior to the start of the sermon. There is also a Mother’s Room located upstairs off the foyer that is equipped with a large viewing window and built in sound for those who wish to stay with your child throughout the service. We do ask for the respect, comfort, and privacy of our nursing mothers that this is a space for women only.
Ages 2-3 meet in our Sprouts Room (Toddler Nursery) that is open Sunday Mornings at 9:30AM through the end of service. If you would like to keep your child with you during worship, the Sprouts will be dismissed prior to the start of the sermon. Through music, imaginative play, dance, and read aloud stories, our toddlers begin to hear and experience the love of Jesus.
Ages 4-7/PreK-2nd Grade meets Sunday morning during sermon to dig into the word and life of Jesus through hands on lessons that they can easily relate to. Music, crafts, games, and object lessons are all tied together to engage every child’s unique learning style.
Ages 8-12/Grades 3-6 Meet Sunday morning during the sermon where they begin to bloom into the young men and woman God as they are given their own space to explore their faith. They will begin learning how to spend time with the Lord in worship and in the Word and are also given opportunities to serve within the church and community. Our curriculum is well rounded to include games, crafts, music, and object lessons that are all Christ centered and engaging.
Kids Discipleship for Ages 5-12/Grades K-6 meets every other Friday evening from 6-7:30PM. We have taken our discipleship model and extended it down to our children! Through the loving guidance of mature mentors, in a small group settings, children are given a safe place to grow to know God intimately, love God passionately and serve God selflessly. Kids in Discipleship are blazing a trail to heaven by following in the footsteps of our savior Jesus Christ.
Tween Ministry- For 4th -6th Graders meeting once a month. Research shows us that early adolescence, that period of life from 10 to 14 years of age, is the second most important developmental stage in the human life (birth to 3 years of age being the most influential time). But experience tells us that kids in this age level are dropping through the cracks in our church ministries. Our Tween Ministry is specifically designed to combine fun, creative expression, teaching and service.

What to Expect

We love our children and include them in much of our Sunday service. They remain with their families for worship, and are then dismissed downstairs to their classrooms in our Fellowship Hall.

CHECK IN

When you arrive, our friendly KidMin staff will greet you and your children at the door and get your family checked in. We use an innovative check-in system designed specifically for children’s ministry called the KidMin App. Once you are signed up and become familiar with the system and process you can download the app on your phone and sign your children in before you even arrive! The security sticker for each child lists their name, allergies, and also contains a QR code that can be scanned by our volunteers to send an automated text to your phone letting you know if your child needs you. Parents love the ease of this system and the peace of mind it brings.

SAFETY

The safety and security of your children is of utmost importance to us. Our facility is closely monitored during our service via security cameras that are strategically placed throughout the facility. In addition, there is radio contact between our Security Team and all children ministry locations throughout the building in the event of an emergency and our KidMin app check-in system assures that no child is released to anyone other than the parent or guardian listed on the child’s account and only with a matching security sticker.” Should say “In addition, there is radio contact between our Security Team and all children ministry locations throughout the building in the event of an emergency. OUR TEAM

Our KidMin team is made up of a wonderful group of volunteers who are experienced, caring, dedicated, and feel called to serve the children and families of our church. They have been carefully chosen, screened with legal background checks, and trained to serve your children the best they can.

CURRICULUM

We are using Group Publishers new DIGIN curriculum and are digging deep into the life of Jesus! This program is full of multisensory lessons that immerse the kids in deep Bible experiences. The kids are not just learning about the Bible and historical Jesus, but most importantly, they are growing to know Jesus personally and building a relationship with him. They are discovering that he is a real person- a real friend- who makes a difference in their lives today.

Spiritual Milestones for Kids

As part of our vision to make and nurture loving, mature and equipped followers of Jesus, spiritual milestones are important to us at Messiah. Each of these special milestones gives children the teaching and experience to grow in their spiritual journey.

Infant and Child Dedication

During a special portion of our Sunday morning service, parents present their child to our congregation for dedication to the Lord and to acknowledge their commitment to bring the child up in the admonition and love of Christ.

Communion Instruction

When parents or guardians feel their child is mature enough to understand the significance of communion, the child will receive instruction that is given over the course of several weeks. At the end of this preparation, they are asked to describe what communion means to them and then present this to the congregation during a special celebratory First Communion service alongside their family and friends.

Water Baptism

There are some children who are ready to commit their lives to Christ and profess their faith through water baptism. This is an important milestone in a Christian’s life and we encourage our youth to participate in our special annual baptism celebration when they along with their families feel they are mature and prepared for this.
